Jamie Kristen has spent most of her young adult life writing and editing stage plays and screenplays. She has received much acclaim for her poetry and songwriting (lyrics), as well. She has four novels in development. 

For a brief period of her life, Jamie lived in the DFW Metroplex, where she met a zany, diverse, strong, funny, and amazing group. 

These women and the people of Texas are a whole different breed of human and immensely entertaining. They were the inspiration for the characters in her novel.

It didn't take long to figure out that Caddo Lake was the perfect setting for this story. With its idyllic foliage, swamp life, reptiles, birds, etc. it is the perfect blend of gorgeous and terrifying. The swamp lake  is shrouded in mystery and urban legends. It provides a never-ending supply of possible plot twists.
